HUNTER x HUNTER NEN x SURVIVOR Version 1.6.0 is a progression update wearing running shoes. It raises the level caps for characters, Memory Scenes, and Lineage Enhancement from 200 to 300, expands World Hunt, adds Kurapika and Leorio as bosses, places Nobunaga in the permanent character pool, and introduces Hunters’ Road as a limited-time action event.

The deterministic Patch Impact Score is 48, enough for a Major classification. The Reinstall Signal is 46 because the update gives developed accounts meaningful new goals without rebuilding the entire survivor-action game. It is worth checking for active or recently lapsed players. It is not a clean reset for someone hoping to skip the existing campaign and jump directly into the headline activity.

Hunters’ Road changes the shape of a run

Hunters’ Road began at 8 p.m. ET on July 19 and runs until 7:59 p.m. ET on August 2. Instead of asking players only to clear enemy waves, it creates a forward-running challenge. A limit line advances from the bottom of the screen, touching it ends the attempt, and traps or route choices interrupt the path to the finish.

Attempts are unlimited, but each run costs 10 stamina. The event also has a sweep function that grants stage rewards up to the highest point already reached and counts toward mission progress. Successful runs award Hunter’s Tickets for the Hunter’s BOX, which contains growth materials, gacha tickets, an event-exclusive Memory of Longing, and Memory Drops.

That makes Hunters’ Road useful for players who want a mechanical variation rather than another static reward calendar. The limit line creates urgency, while the sweep option reduces repeated manual farming after a route has been solved. The tradeoff is access: the event unlocks only after Chapter 6. New players cannot use it as onboarding, and returning players with incomplete story progress must clear that gate first.

The cap increase is the update that lasts

The move from level 200 to 300 applies to characters, Memory Scenes, and Lineage Enhancement. That is the most durable change in 1.6.0 and the largest source of returning-player friction. A mature account has another 100 levels of investment to consider across several connected progression tracks.

Veterans at the old cap benefit immediately because previously finished growth paths become active again. Players with broad rosters may feel the opposite: a higher ceiling can widen the resource gap between a favorite team and everyone waiting on the bench. The official notes do not announce a general catch-up system or reduced upgrade costs alongside the increase.

World Hunt gains specific buffs and debuffs beginning with the new season. Kurapika and Leorio are scheduled to appear as bosses in both World Hunt and Hunters’ Road, while Memory Drops enter the World Hunt Store. The notes say those drops will support a future Memory Deepening feature, so they are a preparation resource today rather than a complete new system players can fully use.

Nobunaga joins the permanent character gacha, and two Memory Aspirations enter the permanent Memory Aspiration pool. Those additions broaden acquisition options, but they do not remove the game’s existing collection and gacha structure. Returning players should check current pools before spending saved resources simply because the level cap moved.

Quality of life is small but well targeted

Watching an ad now restores 10 stamina instead of 5. That aligns one ad recovery with the cost of a Hunters’ Road attempt, a practical connection that makes the event easier to sample without waiting for another recovery cycle.

Version 1.6.0 also fixes a boss-stun problem where the cooldown for reactivating the effect could fail under repeated triggers. It is a narrow correction, not a broad combat balance pass. Core movement, team-building, and survivor-action rules remain recognizable.

Returning Player Tax: C

The Returning Player Tax is C. Basic combat knowledge transfers, but the cap increase creates a new resource plan. Returning players must also learn the Hunters’ Road failure condition, event currencies, sweep behavior, World Hunt modifiers, and the role of Memory Drops.

The safest first session is to inspect the current roster before spending anything, choose one team for the climb beyond 200, confirm Chapter 6 access, and make a manual Hunters’ Road attempt before using sweep. That separates the permanent progression work from the temporary event rush.

Compared with Version 1.5 and the pre-1.6 baseline described by the official notes, this update adds one new activity and raises the ceiling across three growth systems. It does not introduce a new permanent story chapter, a universal onboarding route, or a full redesign of combat. Hunters’ Road is scheduled to disappear, while the extra 100 levels remain.

Is it a genuine reason to return? For capped veterans and active World Hunt players, yes. They receive both a new challenge and a long progression runway. For early-game players, the answer is more restrained: 1.6.0 adds something interesting ahead, but Chapter 6 is still the ticket booth.
