Palworld
Find out what Palworld 1.0 changes, whether your old world still makes sense, and what to check before returning.
Version 1.0 is the clearest reason yet to return, but check your old teams, bases, and mission progress before carrying on.
Palworld reached version 1.0 on July 10, 2026 after more than two years in Early Access. This is not just another island layered onto the old game. The story has a clearer destination, the level cap is higher, the roster is larger, and familiar Pals, bases, exploration routes, and progression plans may work differently.
Is now a good time to return?
Yes—especially if you wanted a stronger sense of direction. Sunreach and the World Tree add a substantial new destination, while Awakening, Mutation, new technologies, revised Partner Skills, and broad quality-of-life changes give you more than a sightseeing trip.
Your existing save can continue, but Pocketpair recommends a fresh character for the new experience. If you keep an old world, start by checking mission progress, Pal teams, breeding plans, work assignments, and base layouts.
What should you watch out for?
The biggest question is how well the launch holds up during normal play and busy multiplayer sessions. Keep a backup of any world you care about, be cautious with mods, and check the latest report before assuming an old setup will behave exactly as it did in Early Access.
Start with the newest verdict.
Palworld 1.0 Is the Real Return Point, With One Big Catch
Pocketpair's full launch is much more than another island update, though existing saves carry enough changed assumptions to deserve a careful restart plan.
